Functional Features Automatic mechanical self-check shutter verifies sensor tube health periodically. It distinguishes real flame UV radiation from electric arc and sunlight interference. It provides fast flame loss signal to burner safeguard controller. It supports parallel wiring for multi-view difficult flame detection condition. The quartz window resists high temperature radiation from combustion chamber. It has cast aluminum corrosion resistant housing. It outputs flame presence and fault signal to flame amplifier.
Application Scenarios Industrial gas boiler flame supervision Oil burner flame safety monitoring Refinery process heater burner control Thermal oxidizer combustion flame detection Combustion furnace safety interlock system Honeywell burner management system spare replacement

Material Composition Cast aluminum alloy housing with anti-corrosion coating High purity quartz viewing window UV sensitive gas discharge sensing tube Mechanical self-check shutter assembly High temperature insulated lead wire Stainless steel mounting flange Silicone high temperature sealing gasket
Structural Features Cylindrical cast aluminum housing with side wiring conduit port. Front quartz window aligned with burner sight pipe. Internal mechanical shutter assembly for self-check function. Rear mounting flange with 3/4 NPT thread. Color coded lead wire exits from rear conduit port. Sealing gasket between flange and sight pipe.
Working Principle UV radiation from combustion flame passes through quartz window and reaches UV sensing tube. The gas discharge tube generates pulse signal when UV photon hits gas molecule. The signal transmits to flame amplifier. The built-in mechanical shutter closes periodically to block UV ray, and the system checks whether sensor signal disappears to confirm sensor tube is not short circuit or failed. When flame extinguishes, UV signal disappears, flame safeguard controller triggers fuel cut-off interlock.
Installation Requirements Install detector on sight pipe aligned directly to flame zone. Keep viewing window clear of flame impingement. Seal the flange gasket tightly to prevent hot gas leakage. Route wiring to flame amplifier terminal. Verify self-check function during commissioning. Keep sight pipe free from soot accumulation.
Usage Notes Quartz window must be cleaned regularly to remove soot. Do not expose detector to direct strong UV arc light outside normal flame. Do not bend lead wire sharply near housing. Replace sensing tube when self-check fault alarm appears. The detector must be matched with approved Honeywell flame amplifier and burner controller.
