Description
Honeywell FC-IOCHAS-0002R
Technical Specifications Standard rack chassis for Safety Manager series I/O modules; support dual redundant power supply modules; backplane high-speed safety bus for QPP processor communication; slot layout compatible with Safety Manager universal IOM cards; backplane signal isolation design; operating temperature 0℃ to 60℃; storage temperature -40℃ to 85℃; humidity 5% to 95% non-condensing; certification meets SIL3 safety system requirements, UL and CE approval.
Functional Features It provides mechanical mounting slots for Safety Manager I/O modules and redundant power supplies. The internal backplane realizes power distribution and high-speed safety bus communication between processor module and each I/O card. It supports hot-swap of individual I/O modules without shutting down the whole chassis. The backplane carries continuous diagnostic circuits for bus and power rails. It supports redundant bus path for safety signal transmission to eliminate single point of failure.
Application Scenarios I/O rack for ESD emergency shutdown systems of oil and gas plants; fire and gas safety system chassis in refineries; turbine protection SIS cabinet frame for power stations; safety I/O rack for chemical plant batch interlock systems.
Performance Parameters Backplane bus communication has deterministic transmission cycle meeting SIF response requirements; redundant power rails realize bumpless power switchover; backplane diagnostic coverage rate meets SIL3 hardware fault tolerance indicators; slot keying prevents insertion of incompatible non-safety modules.
Material Composition Chassis frame and mounting brackets use powder-coated cold rolled steel; backplane is multi-layer high-speed FR4 PCB with conformal coating; slot edge connectors use gold-plated contacts; internal bus insulation materials adopt high flame retardant grade plastic.
Structural Characteristics 19-inch standard rack-mount metal chassis; multiple vertical module slots arranged side by side; dedicated slots for redundant power modules and processor interface; each slot has mechanical keying; front module access design for maintenance; internal air duct for passive convection heat dissipation.
Working Principle The redundant power modules installed in the chassis distribute regulated DC power to each slot through backplane power rails. The safety backplane bus transmits safety logic commands and field I/O status between FC-QPP-0002 processor and each I/O module. The backplane diagnostic circuit continuously monitors bus communication quality, power rail voltage and slot contact state, and reports faults to the safety processor.
Installation Requirements Install the chassis into standard 19-inch control cabinet with fixing bolts. Install redundant power modules in the designated power slots. Keep sufficient upper and lower ventilation clearance for heat dissipation. Route power cables and safety signal cables in separate wiring channels. Cabinet grounding resistance ≤4Ω.
Usage Notes Only Honeywell Safety Manager certified I/O and power modules can be installed in this chassis. Complete SIS functional test after module replacement. Do not modify backplane wiring or traces. Do not block chassis ventilation openings with cable bundles.
