Honeywell MIDAS-E-HAL

Product Introduction MIDAS-E-HAL is dedicated replaceable sensor cartridge for hydrogen bromide gas detection, compatible with Honeywell MIDAS sample draw gas monitor platform. It targets semiconductor etching and thin film process which uses hydrogen bromide as process gas. It measures HBr concentration within 0-8ppm range and transfers digital signal to MIDAS main transmitter. It carries built-in memory chip storing factory calibration data and sensor identity information. It supports automatic identification and fault diagnosis after plugging into host unit. It is designed for corrosive toxic gas continuous sampling monitoring in cleanroom environment.

Material Composition Chemical resistant PPS plastic cartridge housing Electrochemical hydrogen bromide sensing cell SMT signal conditioning PCB with non-volatile memory chip Precision thermistor for temperature compensation Gold plated contact pins for communication PTFE hydrophobic filter membrane for gas inlet Corrosion resistant internal flow channel fittings

Structural Features Pluggable cartridge body matched to MIDAS side slot. Gas inlet and outlet ports connect with host sample flow tubing. Rear gold contact pins realize power supply and digital communication with main transmitter. Internal flow channel is made of corrosion resistant material to avoid HBr gas corrosion. Sealing fluorine rubber O-ring prevents gas leakage. Anti-key notch prevents inserting wrong gas cartridge into the detector.

Working Principle Sample gas is drawn by MIDAS internal pump and flows through cartridge corrosion resistant flow channel. Hydrogen bromide molecules diffuse into electrochemical sensing cell and generate current signal proportional to gas concentration. Signal conditioning circuit amplifies raw signal and compensates temperature deviation. Digital data is transmitted to MIDAS main controller. The host compares measured value with alarm threshold and triggers toxic gas alarm when concentration exceeds setting value.

Installation Requirements Shut down MIDAS host power supply before cartridge replacement. Pull out old cartridge from side slot. Insert MIDAS-E-HAL cartridge fully until locking position. Restart host power and wait for automatic recognition and warm up. Perform zero calibration in clean air and span calibration with certified HBr standard gas. Check sample tubing for leakage after calibration.

Usage Notes Hydrogen bromide is highly corrosive toxic gas, all calibration and maintenance must follow site safety procedure. Do not expose cartridge to high concentration acidic or alkaline vapor which causes irreversible sensor poisoning. Replace cartridge immediately after end of service life. Avoid liquid water entering the flow channel. Store spare cartridge in sealed original packaging in cool dry storage cabinet.
