Working Principle: Module gets working power from rack backplane. It receives data from Ovation control processor through internal rack bus, converts data into designated serial protocol and sends to field serial devices. It receives response data from third-party equipment through serial terminals, converts protocol format and transmits data back to control processor. Isolation circuit blocks interference from field serial wiring.
Installation Requirements: Insert module into specified serial communication slot on Ovation rack and lock side latches. Use shielded twisted pair cable for RS485 wiring. Single point grounding for cable shield layer inside cabinet. Separate serial signal cables and high voltage power cables. Cut off rack power supply before module installation or removal.
Precautions for Use: Do not connect high voltage signal to serial terminals. Wear anti-static wristband during maintenance. Check terminal screw tightness periodically. Keep ventilation slots free of dust accumulation. Stop using module if communication ports suffer permanent damage.
