- Bandwidth: 10/100 Mbps adaptive Ethernet.
- Port Configuration: Multiple isolated communication ports.
- Power: Backplane powered, 24 VDC.
Functional Features
- Multi-Protocol Gateway: Simultaneously supports multiple communication protocols on different ports.
- Traffic Management: Built-in QoS and packet filtering to prioritize critical control traffic.
- Hot-Swappable: Can be replaced without disrupting network traffic to other nodes.
- Firmware Upgradable: Field-upgradable firmware for future protocol enhancements.
Application Scenarios
Ideal for migrating legacy serial networks to Ethernet, integrating vendor-specific equipment, and expanding DCS communication capacity.
Performance Parameters
- Switching Latency: < 5 ms.
- MTBF: > 100,000 hours.
- Environmental Rating: Class G3.
Material Composition
Robust metal and high-impact plastic composite enclosure with internal EMI shielding.
Structural Characteristics
- Mounting: Standard I/A Series rack mount.
- Port Layout: Clearly labeled ports with color-coded indicators.
- Cooling: Passive convection cooling design.
Working Principle
The module acts as a network node, receiving data from the DCS backplane, processing it through its internal protocol stack, and transmitting it out via the configured physical ports. It also receives incoming data and routes it to the appropriate DCS controller.
Installation Requirements
- Ensure proper termination of Ethernet or serial buses.
- Configure DIP switches or software settings to match the network topology.
- Provide adequate clearance for cable bend radius.
Precautions for Use
- Do not connect live networks to unpowered modules.
- Verify protocol compatibility before deploying.
- Keep firmware consistent across redundant modules.
