Honeywell FS7-2173-2RP

Product Introduction FS7-2173-2RP is a digital multi-spectral electro-optical flame detector developed by Honeywell Fire Sentry series. It is specially designed for semiconductor clean room wet bench and flammable liquid fire detection application. It uses multi-spectral sensor array and digital signal processing algorithm to identify flame radiation spectrum and suppress false alarm interference from sunlight, welding arc, hot object and lamp. This RP version integrates built-in relay output for direct connection to fire alarm panel or safety control system. It stores FirePics pre-event spectral data and event history in non-volatile memory for post-event analysis. The housing reaches IP67 ingress protection rating.

Material Composition Polycarbonate waterproof enclosure Multi-spectral photodiode sensor array Digital signal processing microprocessor Non-volatile flash memory chip Electromagnetic relay TVS surge protection components Transparent optical window with anti-scratch coating Sealing silicone rubber gasket

Structural Features Cylindrical leak-proof integrated housing structure. Front side is optical sensing window. Rear side sealed pigtail cable exits housing. Internal circuit and sensor are fully sealed inside IP67 enclosure. Built-in relay circuit board and memory chip are fixed inside housing. Mounting thread structure is reserved for bracket installation. Silicone gasket forms full waterproof seal between housing cover and main body.

Working Principle Multi-spectral photodiode array receives radiation signal from monitored area. The microprocessor samples spectral signal continuously and compares spectrum characteristic with flame fingerprint library. When signal matches flame spectrum and reaches alert threshold, pre-alert relay activates. When flame energy reaches alarm threshold, fire alarm relay activates. The detector records spectral snapshot data into flash memory when alarm triggers. If sensor or circuit fault occurs, fault relay changes state and LED indicates fault code.

Installation Requirements Install detector on dedicated mounting bracket and align optical window to monitored hazard area. Keep the optical window away from direct sunlight and reflective hot surface. Wire 24VDC power supply and relay output cable to fire alarm panel. Power on detector and wait 15 seconds for self-test completion. Verify normal blink status LED. Keep optical window clean and unobstructed. Set alarm logic in connected fire panel.

Usage Notes Do not cover or block the optical window. Clean optical window regularly to remove dust and solvent vapor deposit. Do not expose the detector to continuous direct high temperature flame. Do not apply solvent or corrosive cleaner to the optical window surface. Verify relay contact load current does not exceed 1A rating.
