Functional Features Dual redundant FTE channel supports automatic switchover when one Ethernet link fails, switchover time is less than 100ms. It continuously monitors link pulse, cable breakage and network port fault. It filters non-FTE broadcast packet to reduce network load. It uploads module health status and link fault alarm to Experion PKS system. It supports hot swap replacement during online system operation without controller shutdown. It synchronizes network time stamp between controller and FTE network. It implements FTE protocol stack to support redundant path management. It has front panel LED indicators for power, module fault, FTE A and FTE B link status.
Application Scenarios Experion C200 redundant controller rack FTE communication bridge Petrochemical plant DCS control cabinet network communication spare replacement Chemical process control system FTE network fault repair Power plant Experion PKS C200 controller network upgrade Natural gas processing plant redundant control system spare inventory

Material Composition FR4 multilayer flame retardant conformal coated PCB FTE protocol processing FPGA chip Dual Ethernet physical layer transceiver chips Isolation transformers for Ethernet ports Flash memory and SDRAM memory chips TVS surge suppression components Gold plated edge connector for rack backplane Metal front panel with extraction handle and LED indicators
Structural Features Standard C200 rack plug-in module form factor. Front metal panel carries four tri-color LED status indicators and extraction handle. Two RJ45 Ethernet ports locate on front panel for FTE A and FTE B network connection. Rear gold plated edge connector mates with rack backplane power and control bus. Internal PCB layout separates high speed Ethernet signal zone and backplane logic zone to reduce crosstalk. Anti-key notch prevents reverse insertion into rack slot. Locking clip fixes module firmly in slot after installation.
Working Principle After power on, the module initializes FTE protocol stack and establishes two independent logical links to FTE network. It receives process data and control command from C200 controller backplane and forwards packet to active FTE network path. It receives downlink command from FTE network and transmits data to controller. When one FTE cable or port fails, the module automatically switches all traffic to standby FTE channel without control interruption. Diagnostic circuit monitors hardware circuit and link heartbeat signal, and sends fault alarm to Experion PKS when abnormality is detected.
Installation Requirements Wear anti-static wrist strap before replacement operation. Insert module into vacant rack slot, align anti-misalignment notch and lock front handle. Connect FTE A and FTE B shielded Ethernet cable to two front RJ45 ports. Restore rack power and wait for module self-test completion. Verify link LED status on Experion PKS operator station. Download matching FTE network configuration if required. Test link failure switchover function by disconnecting one FTE cable.
Usage Notes Static protection operation is mandatory during module handling and replacement. Do not scratch gold plated edge connector surface. Use industrial grade shielded Ethernet cable for FTE network connection. Keep cabinet internal temperature stable within specified range. Do not modify PCB trace or replace non-specified components on circuit board.
