Description
Bently 3500/54M
Technical Specifications
- Module Type: Electronic Overspeed Protection Module
- Channel Configuration: Supports dual-channel or triple-channel (TMR) redundant configurations
- Slot Placement: Any available monitor slot
- Safety Certification: SIL 2 Compliant
Functional Features
- Redundant Voting Logic: Capable of forming dual-channel or Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) systems using 2-out-of-3 voting logic to eliminate single points of failure.
- Fast Response Time: Provides rapid and highly reliable overspeed detection to trigger emergency shutdowns.
- Independent Protection: Operates independently from other monitoring modules to ensure safety integrity.
Application Scenarios
Deployed in critical rotating equipment such as large steam turbines, gas turbines, and compressors where overspeed protection is a mandatory safety requirement.
Performance Parameters
- Operating Temperature Range: -30°C to +65°C
- Storage Temperature Range: -40°C to +85°C
- Humidity Tolerance: 95% non-condensing
Material Composition
Constructed with safety-rated industrial electronic components and conformal-coated PCBs to withstand harsh industrial environments.
Structural Characteristics
Full-height module featuring front-panel LED indicators for operational status, signal presence, and fault diagnostics.
Working Principle
Processes high-frequency pulse signals from proximity or magnetic speed sensors. When the calculated rotational speed exceeds the programmed setpoint, the module executes its voting logic and triggers the associated safety relays.
Installation Requirements
Must be installed in an available monitor slot. Requires proper grounding and shielded sensor cabling to prevent signal interference.
Usage Notes
When configured in a TMR system, all three modules must be identical and properly configured via the 3500 Rack Configuration Software to ensure correct voting logic execution.
