Description
Bently 45358-09
Technical Specifications Controlled 50 ohm characteristic impedance; matched to Bently standard eddy current probe systems; double shielded coaxial construction; defined total cable length rating; mineral filled or polymer insulated variants; compatible with Bently 3300 series monitoring hardware.
Functional Features Transmits high frequency eddy current probe signals between the sensor probe and monitor module. Double shielding suppresses electromagnetic interference from nearby motor and power cabling. Maintains consistent electrical impedance to preserve measurement linearity of the proximity transducer system.
Application Scenarios Turbines, centrifugal compressors, large pumps, gearboxes and high speed rotating machinery for shaft vibration, axial thrust and shaft position monitoring.
Performance Parameters Controlled impedance tolerance; low signal attenuation at transducer operating frequencies; robust shielding effectiveness; consistent electrical performance across wide temperature ranges.
Material Composition Inner conductor is solid copper; primary insulation is low dielectric constant polymer; inner and outer shields are copper braid; outer jacket is abrasion and oil resistant thermoplastic; connector hardware is nickel plated stainless steel.
Structural Characteristics Continuous coaxial cable construction; precision crimped connectors at both ends; color coded outer jacket; integrated strain relief at connector transition points.
Working Principle The eddy current probe generates high frequency electromagnetic fields. The extension cable carries the RF excitation signal from the monitor to the probe and returns the impedance modulated signal back to the monitor. Fixed cable length preserves the calibrated transducer curve programmed into the monitoring channel.
Installation Requirements Route the cable with minimum sharp bending radii specified by the datasheet. Separate the transducer cable from high voltage and variable frequency drive power cables. Secure cable runs with non‑abrasive fasteners. Use only the exact length cable specified for the calibrated monitor channel.
Precautions for Use Do not splice or cut the cable to alter length. Sharp kinks damage internal impedance characteristics. Keep connectors clean and free of oil, grease and contamination. Do not pull cable by the connector body during installation.
