Functional Features Automatic cartridge recognition by MIDAS host after insertion. It stores factory calibration parameters inside on-board memory chip. It provides real-time concentration signal and sensor drift diagnostic data to main transmitter. It triggers pre-alarm and fault signal when sensor aging or circuit failure occurs. It supports single point calibration with hydrogen standard gas. It has built-in temperature compensation circuit to reduce temperature influence on measurement value. It supports hot swap replacement without powering off the MIDAS host unit.
Application Scenarios Semiconductor fab cleanroom hydrogen gas leak monitoring Fiber optic manufacturing hydrogen process area monitoring Laboratory hydrogen cylinder storage room safety detection Fuel cell test bench hydrogen leakage monitoring Electronics manufacturing wet process gas monitoring MIDAS fixed gas detector spare sensor cartridge replacement

Material Composition ABS plastic sealed cartridge housing Electrochemical hydrogen sensing cell SMT signal conditioning PCB with non-volatile memory chip Precision temperature compensation thermistor Gold plated contact pins for cartridge communication PTFE dust filter membrane at gas inlet Internal flow channel for sample gas passage
Structural Features Integrated pluggable cartridge structure matching MIDAS detector slot. One side carries gas inlet and outlet flow port connecting with sample draw tubing. The other side has gold contact pins for power supply and digital communication with host transmitter. Internal flow path guides sample gas to sensing cell chamber. Sealing O-ring prevents gas leakage between cartridge and host cavity. Anti-key notch prevents wrong cartridge model insertion.
Working Principle Sample gas pumped by MIDAS host flows through the cartridge internal channel and reaches electrochemical sensing cell. Hydrogen gas reacts on working electrode and generates proportional current signal. Signal conditioning circuit amplifies and compensates the raw signal, then converts to digital value. On-board memory chip transmits sensor data and calibration information to MIDAS main controller. The host unit calculates gas concentration and executes alarm logic according to preset threshold.
Installation Requirements Power off the MIDAS detector host before replacing cartridge. Remove old cartridge from the side slot. Insert MIDAS-E-H2X cartridge fully until contact pins lock in place. Restore host power and wait for automatic cartridge recognition and warm up. Perform zero calibration and span calibration with standard hydrogen gas after replacement. Verify concentration reading with calibration gas.
Usage Notes Store spare cartridge in cool dry environment within specified temperature range. Do not expose cartridge to high concentration corrosive gas or organic solvent vapor. Replace cartridge immediately after reaching 24-month service life. Keep sample tubing clean and avoid particulate contamination entering the sensing cell. Calibration gas must use certified hydrogen balance with nitrogen.
