Working Principle: Field analog and digital signals enter the module through rack backplane. Analog signals pass through filter and isolation circuits, then converted into digital values by onboard ADC. Digital input signals are processed through optocoupler isolation. The microcontroller packages all collected data and transmits to DCS controller via RS485 Modbus bus. When DCS sends output commands, the module drives digital output channels to control field relays or actuators. Built-in circuit monitors signal integrity and triggers fault indication when channel failure occurs.

Installation Requirements:

  • Insert module into matched Elcart series Eurocard rack chassis
  • Wear anti-static wristband before handling the PCB module
  • Verify backplane connector cleanliness and no oxidation before insertion
  • Use shielded twisted pair cable for Modbus RS485 communication wiring
  • Separate field signal cables from high voltage power wiring
  • Implement reliable rack protective grounding

Usage Notes:

  • Configure channel signal type and scaling parameters before power on
  • Do not exceed rated input voltage and current range of each channel
  • Perform periodic inspection of gold-plated edge connectors for dust and corrosion
  • Cut off rack power supply before removing or inserting module if hot-swap is not required
  • Avoid mechanical impact and excessive vibration on the rack chassis
  • Check PCB conformal coating integrity during maintenance outage
