Functional Features High efficiency AC-DC conversion circuit provides stable DC power for all safety modules on DeltaV SIS rack backplane. Multi-protection hardware circuit triggers cut-off action under overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent and overtemperature conditions to protect downstream SIS modules. Continuous monitoring circuit samples output voltage and internal temperature of power supply module. Front-panel LED indicators display power running status and fault alarm information directly. Hot-swap mechanical structure supports module replacement under non-critical safety operating conditions without powering off the whole safety control rack. Built-in EMI filter circuit suppresses high-frequency interference from AC power grid and prevents noise from entering SIS backplane. Redundant parallel operation supports bumpless power switching when one power module fails.
Application Scenarios DeltaV SIS safety main control cabinets deployed in chemical plants, oil refineries, natural gas processing facilities, pharmaceutical factories and thermal power plants. It serves as the main power source for DeltaV SIS safety controller racks, providing stable DC power for safety controllers, safety I/O modules and safety communication interface boards.
Performance Parameters Power conversion circuit maintains stable DC output within full rated working temperature interval. Protection circuit activates instantly once electrical parameters exceed preset safe thresholds. EMI filter circuit eliminates high-frequency power grid noise effectively. Output voltage ripple keeps within specified tolerance range under full load condition. Diagnostic circuit captures power abnormality and uploads safety alarm events without delay.
Material Composition Flame-retardant engineering plastic front housing. Multi-layer flame-retardant glass-fiber epoxy printed circuit board. AC-DC conversion power chips, sampling monitoring microprocessor, EMI filter components and LED status indicators. Gold-plated copper alloy backplane connector with anti-oxidation plating layer. High-temperature resistant power electrolytic capacitors and power semiconductor devices.
Structural Features Compact plug-in card structure matching standard DeltaV SIS rack slot dimensions. Front panel integrates power normal indicator and fault alarm LED lights. Built-in guide rails and spring mechanical latch fix the module firmly inside safety equipment rack and prevent loose contact caused by cabinet vibration. Rear gold-plated multi-pin connector completes electrical connection with DeltaV SIS rack backplane. Internal metal heat sink absorbs heat generated by power conversion components. Outer shell adopts large-area heat-dissipation slot design to enhance natural convection cooling inside closed safety cabinet.
Working Principle AC mains power enters the module through internal wiring terminals. The EMI filter circuit removes high-frequency interference from power grid. AC-DC conversion circuit converts alternating current into stable 12VDC and 24VDC direct current. DC power transmits to DeltaV SIS rack backplane through rear gold-plated connector to supply power for safety controller and safety I/O modules. On-board sampling circuit continuously monitors output voltage, output current and internal module temperature. When overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent or overtemperature fault occurs, protection circuit cuts off DC output immediately. The module generates safety fault flag and uploads alarm message through LocalBus to DeltaV safety operator station. Redundant power modules run in parallel. When one module fails, another redundant module takes over full load without power interruption.
Installation Requirements Insert the module along rack guide rail into designated DeltaV SIS rack slot and fasten mechanical latch completely. Connect AC input power cable to module power terminals and tighten terminal screws. Separate AC power wiring from analog safety signal cables and low-voltage communication cables to avoid electromagnetic interference coupling. Reserve sufficient air circulation space around the module to guarantee heat dissipation, do not block shell heat-dissipation slots. Complete hardware identification and power threshold parameter configuration in DeltaV safety engineering workstation after hardware installation.
Precautions for Use Carry out anti-static protection measures during module handling; do not touch gold-plated connector pins with bare hands. Cut off AC input power supply before performing wiring modification work. Verify backplane voltage output after module replacement. Check terminal screw tightening torque and cable insulation condition in regular cabinet maintenance cycles. Do not connect AC input voltage exceeding rated range to module power terminals. Do not disassemble module outer housing, internal high-voltage power components have no on-site maintainable parts.
