Application Scenarios
Deployed in control cabinets across oil and gas, petrochemical, and power generation facilities to power dense clusters of field I/O modules in harsh industrial environments.
Performance Parameters
- Operating Temperature: Rated for continuous operation in Class G3 harsh environments.
- Reliability: High Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) designed for 24/7 continuous industrial duty.
Material Composition
Housed in a robust, extruded aluminum chassis that provides excellent electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding and acts as a passive heat sink for internal power components.
Structural Characteristics
- Form Factor: Standard single-width or dual-width I/A Series module footprint.
- Backplane Interface: High-density, gold-plated backplane connectors ensuring low-resistance power distribution.
- Indicators: Front-panel LEDs for Power OK, Fault, and Overload status.
Working Principle
The module receives primary DC power from the system’s main power supplies and conditions it before distributing it across the internal backplane bus to the eight allocated slots. It continuously monitors the load current and voltage levels, actively regulating the output to maintain strict tolerances.
Installation Requirements
- Must be installed in the designated power slot of the I/A Series chassis.
- Ensure primary power cables are properly sized and torqued to manufacturer specifications.
- Verify proper grounding of the chassis to ensure EMI protection and safety.
Precautions for Use
- Never bypass the internal protection circuits.
- When replacing the module, ensure the primary power input is isolated if the chassis does not support hot-swapping at the primary level.
- Monitor the fault LED; if illuminated, immediately investigate for backplane shorts or overloaded I/O modules.
