Functional Features It receives process data, alarm messages and configuration commands from the local control processor and packages data into standard LCN frames for transmission. It extracts valid data packets from incoming LCN bus signals and forwards parsed commands to the local control processor. It implements automatic redundant switching between LCN A and LCN B channels. It monitors network heartbeat signal continuously and triggers fault flag when link loss occurs. It carries front panel LED indicators for power, LCN A active, LCN B active and module fault. It supports hot swap replacement in redundant rack configuration. It filters invalid broadcast packets to reduce LCN network load. It stores node address and communication parameter in non-volatile memory. It uploads network diagnostic logs to TDC3000 operator station.

Material Composition FR4 flame retardant conformal coated multilayer PCB 32-bit communication processing FPGA chip Dual LCN PHY transceiver chips Static RAM and flash memory chips Isolation transformer and surge suppression TVS components Gold plated edge connector for backplane Metal front panel with extraction handle and multi-color LED indicators Internal aluminum heat sink for high-speed chip heat dissipation
Structural Features Standard paddle card form factor. Front panel integrates LCN signal terminal ports and grouped LED indicators plus extraction handle. Rear gold plated edge connector mates with rack backplane power and control bus. Internal PCB layout separates high-speed LCN signal circuit and low-speed logic circuit to suppress electromagnetic crosstalk. Anti-key notch prevents reverse insertion into rack slot. Locking clip secures module firmly after installation. Independent shielding cavity for dual LCN channels isolates signal interference. Conformal coating covers PCB surface to resist moisture and corrosive gas in industrial cabinet.
Working Principle After receiving 5VDC and 12VDC power supply from rack backplane, the module loads communication firmware from flash memory and completes self-test. It synchronizes clock signal with LCN bus and registers node address to LCN network. When local control processor sends data, FPGA chip encapsulates data into LCN frame and sends signal to active LCN channel. When LCN bus transmits data packet, transceiver chip receives analog signal and converts it into digital data, then FPGA verifies packet checksum and forwards valid data to local processor. If heartbeat packet is missing on active channel, the module switches all communication traffic to standby channel immediately. Fault information is uploaded to operator station for alarm display.
Installation Requirements Wear anti-static wrist strap before inserting module into dedicated LCN interface slot of rack. Lock extraction handle after full seating. Connect 75Ω LCN coaxial cable to LCN A and LCN B ports. Power on rack and wait for module self-test cycle to complete. Verify LCN A and LCN B active LED steady on. Configure node address and network parameters in engineering workstation. Test redundant network switchover by disconnecting one LCN cable. Confirm control logic keeps running without interruption during test.
Usage Notes Only use 75Ω impedance matching LCN dedicated coaxial cable for network wiring. Do not scratch gold plated contact surface of edge connector. Keep cabinet ventilation channel unobstructed to avoid overheating of FPGA chip. Do not remove conformal coating on PCB. Replace module when continuous communication timeout occurs and cable fault is excluded.
