Description
ABB 3BDZ000398R1
- Technical / Physical Details:
- Material: Glass-fiber reinforced polyamide (PA66), gray (RAL 7035) for S800; black for S900 — with molded keying boss
- Fixing: One M4 captive screw (or DIN-rail locking lever depending on kit) — secures to end-most module’s top retention screw hole or to TB521 end boss
- Compatibility: TB521, TB511, TB807, TB820 S800 termination units (NOT for S900 — different key!)
- Dimensions: ≈45 mm (W) × 119 mm (H) × 10 mm (D) — same width as one S800 module (cosmetic / closure only — no electronics)
- Included Parts: End plate body, keying insert (pre-installed for S800), mounting screw, sometimes an additional PE tab
- Installation Requirements:
- After populating TB521 with PPD113 (left end) + I/O modules → slide end plate onto right-side guide rails (same rails the last module sits on)
- Press gently until plate seats against last module’s end
- Tighten captive screw (finger-tight + 1/4 turn — do NOT overtorque plastic)
- Verify PE continuity: if separate PE tab present → bond to cabinet PE busbar or to TB521 PE bar with braid
- For multi-rack S800 clusters: right end plate of Rack A may be removed if Rack B daisy-chains on same DIN — but normally each rack gets its own end plate unless contiguous bus extension (rare — S800 ModuleBus daisy-chain via TB521 extender not standard; usually separate CI840A node per rack)
- Precautions:
- S900 (black) will NOT fit rails & vice-versa — attempting to force cracks guide rails. If unsure check existing rack’s end plate color.
- End plate is not optional — omitting it leaves modules unsecured & breaks EMC shield continuity → increased EMI susceptibility & possible module walk-out from vibration.
- If replacing a damaged end plate: note key orientation (key boss faces inward toward modules) — install reversed → won’t seat.
(If 3BDZ000398R1 in your BOM actually meant the TK801V006 ModuleBus cable — some legacy BOMs loosely reference 3BDZ for cables — see TK801V006 description earlier: 40-way flat ribbon 0.6 m between AC 800M CPU & TB521.)
