Description
ABB INIET800
- Technical Specifications (typical gateway function):
- Legacy Side Interface: Infi-Net (INNIS21 / INICT13 compatible Nodbus peer) — connects as a “pseudo-INFI 90 node” on the Infi-Net ring/token-bus
- Modern Side Interface: Ethernet 10/100/1000 Mbps — connects to Plant LAN / Symphony Plus node (IET800, AC 800M with CI854, or 800xA Connectivity Server)
- Protocols Supported: INFI 90 Nodbus (peer-to-peer data exchange, block read/write), OPC DA/HDA/Alarms & Events (on modern side), optionally Modbus TCP for third-party
- Data Mapping: Up to N analog and digital points (system-dependent — typically 2000+ tags) mapped bidirectionally
- Time Synchronization: Passes NTP from modern system to legacy nodes or vice-versa
- Power: 24 V DC (from IET800 node or separate PSU)
- Indicators: Power, Infi-Net Link, Ethernet Link, Error LEDs
- Operating Temp.: 0 °C to +55 °C
- Mounting: DIN rail or in IET800 node slot / separate gateway enclosure
- Functional Features:
- Transparent tag mapping — legacy INFI 92 block addresses mapped to OPC Item IDs or 800xA aspects
- Alarm forwarding — INFI 90 alarms appear in Symphony Plus / 800xA alarm list
- Supports redundant Infi-Net A/B rings
- Allows phased migration — keep legacy I/O racks alive while new operator stations are Symphony Plus / 800xA
- Application Scenarios:
- Brownfield modernization — plant originally INFI 92 / Harmony wants new 800xA or Symphony Plus operator interface while retaining existing I/O and controllers
- Data concentration — bring selected legacy INFI 92 process data into corporate MES / PI historian via OPC
- Coexistence period during multi-year retrofit
- Material & Structure / Working Principle / Installation / Precautions:
- Install INIET800 gateway node on Plant LAN; connect Infi-Net cable to INNIS21-compatible port (often via A/B coax or twisted-pair Infi-Net cable with proper termination)
- Configure in INFI 92 Engineering Workbench — add INIET800 as a node on Infi-Net with node address; define exported blocks (analog/digital) in INFI 92 database
- Configure in 800xA / Symphony Plus — import OPC server; browse INFI 92 tags; build aspects
- Verify Infi-Net ring termination and node address uniqueness
- Precaution: Changing INFI 92 database (adding/removing exported blocks) requires download — coordinate with operations to avoid unintended controller restart. Ensure Infi-Net node address does NOT conflict with existing INFI 92 nodes. Maintain Infi-Net terminators at both ends of the ring.
