Technical Specifications Channel Count: 16 analog signal channels Supported Signal Type: 4-20mA DC, 0-5V DC, 0-10V DC Per-channel Fuse Rating: 0.25A Surge Withstand Capacity: 1kV 1.2/50μs surge per channel Loop Power Supply: 24V DC for two-wire field transmitters Power Consumption: 4.5W Operating Temperature Range: 0℃ to 60℃ Storage Temperature Range: -40℃ to 85℃ Isolation Withstand Voltage: 1500V AC per channel group Relative Humidity: 5% to 95%, non-condensing
Functional Features Each channel integrates independent fast blow fuse and TVS transient suppression diode. It supports single-ended and differential wiring mode configuration by on-board jumper. It executes loop open circuit, short circuit and fuse blown fault detection. It carries signal level matching between field instruments and HLAI processor card. It supports hot swap operation when paired with compatible HLAI processor card. It stores channel wiring configuration parameters in non-volatile memory. It uploads fuse fault and channel wiring alarm status to DCS diagnostic console.
Application Scenarios Field termination interface for pressure, differential pressure and flow transmitter 4-20mA signal loops. Signal marshalling for voltage output type position transmitters and displacement sensors. Auxiliary termination for analog measurement loops in ESD and interlock control systems. Replacement and spare stocking for aging HLAI FTA assemblies in legacy TPS UCN marshalling cabinets.
Performance Parameters Signal Transmission Delay: ≤0.6ms Fuse Fault Detection Resolution: 0.04mA Channel Isolation Resistance: ≥1000MΩ Signal Attenuation: ≤0.02% FS within working frequency range
Material Composition PCB Substrate: High-TG flame-retardant FR-4 multi-layer glass fiber board Fast blow miniature fuse components TVS transient suppression diodes Signal buffer and protection chips Gold-plated ribbon cable connector contacts Gold-plated field screw terminal block contacts Cold-rolled steel front panel with electrostatic spray coating
Structural Features Standard European pluggable board structure, installed in dedicated FTA slot of UCN marshalling rack. Front panel is equipped with RUN indicator light, group fault indicator lights and general fault indicator light. Two groups of side connectors are reserved, one for field instrument wiring and one for ribbon cable connection to HLAI processor card. Each channel fuse adopts replaceable socket structure for convenient on-site maintenance. Protection components are arranged close to field terminals to suppress incoming surge at signal entry point. Differential signal traces adopt twisted pair shielding layout to reduce common-mode interference.
Working Principle Field analog signals from transmitters and voltage sensors enter the assembly through field screw terminals. Each signal channel passes through fuse and surge suppression circuit to absorb transient voltage spikes. Jumper configuration defines the signal working mode as single-ended or differential. The signal buffer circuit shapes analog signal and transmits conditioned signal to matched HLAI processor card via ribbon cable. The supervision circuit continuously monitors loop impedance and current value. When fuse blows or field wire breaks, the assembly generates fault signal and uploads alarm information to rack IOP processor.
Installation Requirements Insert the assembly vertically into the dedicated FTA slot of UCN marshalling rack and tighten fixing screws. Connect field instrument wiring to field terminals and ribbon cable to HLAI processor card side terminals. Use factory specified ribbon cable for connection with matched HLAI analog processor card. Ground the shielding layer of shielded twisted pair cable at FTA side only. Download channel wiring mode and supervision configuration parameters from Control Builder software after power-on. Verify signal transmission and fuse fault alarm function on HPM diagnostic screen.
Precautions Release static electricity before plugging the assembly to protect buffer and protection chips. Only replace fuse with the same rated current, higher rating fuse loses surge and short-circuit protection capability. Do not connect AC high voltage signals to analog input terminals. Loose terminal contacts cause signal fluctuation and unstable measurement reading. This assembly must be used together with matching HLAI processor card, it cannot work independently.
