Working Principle:
The LWN2660-6 operates as a switch-mode flyback converter. It rectifies the incoming AC or DC voltage and utilizes a single-stage conversion topology with Power Factor Correction. The internal switching transistor operates at a constant 130 kHz frequency to regulate the output voltage. A feedback loop continuously monitors the output, adjusting the duty cycle to maintain a precise 24 VDC output while providing galvanic isolation between the input and output circuits.
Installation Requirements:
- Mounting: Securely snap the unit onto a standard 35 mm DIN rail, ensuring the locking mechanism is fully engaged.
- Clearance: Maintain adequate spacing around the unit to allow for unrestricted natural convection airflow.
- Wiring: Use appropriately sized copper conductors and ensure all terminal screws are tightened to the specified torque to prevent hot spots.
- Parallel Operation: If paralleling multiple units for increased current, insert droop resistors in the Vo+ output lines to ensure proper current sharing.
Usage Precautions:
- Thermal Limits: Avoid operating the unit simultaneously at minimum input voltage, maximum output power, and maximum ambient temperature.
- Battery Charging Variant: If utilizing the battery charger variant (Option M1), connect the dedicated temperature sensor to optimize charging voltage and extend battery life. Note that this variant cannot be paralleled without disabling the sensor.
- ESD Safety: Observe standard Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) precautions during installation and maintenance.
- Maintenance: Do not attempt to open or repair the internal components. Replace the entire module if a fault is indicated by the status LED.
