Honeywell 51197005-200

Product Introduction 51197005-200 is a UCN network interface paddle card for Honeywell TDC3000 distributed control system, revision 200. It realizes protocol conversion between TDC3000 local control node and UCN universal control network. It exchanges process data, control commands and alarm information between LCN domain and UCN field devices including controllers, I/O racks and field instruments. Revision 200 version optimizes UCN bus arbitration algorithm and improves network load capacity. It supports redundant UCN A and UCN B channel and automatic channel switchover. It is the core gateway component for TDC3000 to connect UCN field control network.

Functional Features It receives UCN bus frames from redundant UCN A and UCN B channels. It executes bus arbitration and frame checksum verification for UCN protocol packets. It converts UCN protocol frames into TDC3000 internal bus format and forwards data to node main processor. It converts LCN side commands into UCN frames and sends to target UCN devices. It monitors UCN bus load, frame error count and device online status. It triggers automatic channel switchover when active UCN channel fails. It carries front panel LED indicators for power, UCN A active, UCN B active and bus fault. It supports hot swap replacement in redundant node configuration. It uploads UCN network diagnostic log and fault timestamp to TDC3000 operator station.

Material Composition FR4 flame retardant conformal coated multilayer PCB UCN protocol FPGA controller chip Dual UCN PHY transceiver chips Bus arbitration logic circuit Isolation transformer and surge TVS components Backplane bus transceiver chip Gold plated edge connector for TDC3000 backplane Metal front panel with extraction handle, UCN terminal block and LED indicators

Structural Features Standard paddle card form factor. Front panel integrates removable UCN twisted pair terminal block, grouped LED indicators and extraction handle. Rear gold plated edge connector mates with rack backplane power and node bus. Dual UCN channels adopt independent isolation circuit to avoid cross-channel interference. Anti-key notch prevents reverse insertion into rack slot. Locking clip secures module firmly after installation. Internal PCB layout separates high-speed UCN signal circuit and low-speed node bus circuit to reduce crosstalk. Conformal coating fully covers PCB surface to resist dust and corrosive gas.

Working Principle After receiving power supply from rack backplane, the module completes power-on self-test and UCN bus initialization. It registers node address on UCN bus and synchronizes bus clock. When UCN bus transmits data frames, transceiver chip receives differential signal and converts into digital frame. FPGA chip verifies frame checksum and translates UCN protocol into internal bus data. When LCN side sends control command, FPGA encapsulates command into standard UCN frame and transmits to active UCN channel. If heartbeat signal on active channel is lost, the module switches all communication traffic to standby UCN channel immediately. Fault information is uploaded to operator station.

Installation Requirements Wear anti-static wrist strap before inserting module into dedicated UCN interface slot of rack. Lock extraction handle after full seating. Connect shielded twisted pair cable to UCN A and UCN B terminals on front panel. Configure UCN node address and bus alarm parameters in engineering workstation. Power on rack and verify one UCN channel active LED steady on. Test redundant switchover by disconnecting primary UCN cable. Confirm all UCN devices keep normal communication during switchover test.

Usage Notes Use Honeywell UCN dedicated shielded twisted pair cable for wiring. Install 120Ω terminator resistor at both ends of UCN bus. Keep shield wire single point grounding at marshalling cabinet side. Check terminal screw tightness periodically under vibration environment. Replace module when continuous UCN frame error alarm occurs and bus terminator is intact.
