Functional Features It generates forced cooling airflow through rack internal card slots to dissipate heat from paddle cards. It outputs tachometer pulse signal to monitoring circuit to reflect real-time fan rotational speed. It detects fan stall, locked rotor, speed drop and fan power loss fault. It carries front panel LED indicators for power normal, fan running and fan fault. It uploads fan speed value and fault alarm to TDC3000 operator station. It supports hot swap replacement while rack main power remains energized. It triggers pre-warning alarm when fan speed drops below threshold before full stall. It stores fault event log in on-board non-volatile memory.
Application Scenarios TDC3000 processor rack forced cooling and fan monitoring Petrochemical plant high-density I/O rack cooling assembly Refinery furnace control cabinet thermal management Power plant boiler interlock control rack cooling fan unit Chemical plant continuous process DCS rack fan monitoring module

Material Composition FR4 flame retardant PCB for fan monitoring circuit Brushless DC fan with plastic frame and glass fiber reinforced impeller Hall effect tachometer sensor inside fan unit Speed comparison logic chip Reverse polarity and overcurrent protection circuit Gold plated edge connector for TDC3000 rack backplane Metal front panel with extraction handle and LED indicators Dust inlet filter screen on fan housing
Structural Features Standard TDC3000 fan assembly form factor. Front panel integrates dust filter screen, grouped LED indicators and extraction handle. Rear gold plated edge connector mates with rack backplane 24VDC power and fan monitoring signal pins. Fan impeller is aligned with rack internal air duct to push airflow through card slots. Anti-key notch prevents reverse insertion into rack slot. Locking clip secures module firmly after installation. Filter screen can be detached independently for cleaning without removing the whole fan assembly.
Working Principle After receiving 24VDC power supply from rack backplane, the brushless DC fan starts rotation. Hall sensor inside fan generates tachometer pulse proportional to rotational speed. Monitoring circuit counts pulse frequency and calculates real-time fan speed. Logic chip compares measured speed with preset alarm threshold. If speed drops below threshold or pulse signal disappears, fault flag generates and cooling alarm uploads to operator station. Overcurrent protection circuit cuts off fan power when short circuit occurs inside fan winding.
Installation Requirements Wear anti-static wrist strap before inserting fan assembly into dedicated fan slot of rack. Lock extraction handle after full seating. Confirm airflow direction matches rack air duct design. Power on rack and verify fan running LED steady on. Check fan speed value from engineering workstation. Clean dust filter screen regularly after commissioning. Test fan fault alarm by stopping fan rotation manually for verification.
Usage Notes Power off rack main power before detaching filter screen for deep cleaning. Do not block fan inlet and outlet airflow path. Replace fan assembly when speed alarm persists and power supply is normal. Do not run rack continuously for long time after fan fault alarm. Keep cabinet external air intake unobstructed.
