Product Brief:​ The PCD232A101 is a later-generation excitation processor in ABB’s Unitrol / AC 800PEC excitation family. Compared to PCD230A101 (which is processor-only, relying on separate termination units for analog/digital I/O), the PCD232A101 integrates the AVR processor plus onboard signal conditioning I/O​ (generator PT/VT inputs, CT inputs, field V/I feedback, binary I/O for breaker monitoring, raise/lower contacts) and the fiber-optic interface to the thyristor gate-pulse unit — all in one module/box. It is used in Unitrol 1040 compact excitation cubicles and in newer Unitrol 5000 builds where panel space is constrained.
