ABB PM865K02

Product Brief: The PM865K02 is essentially the redundancy-enabled kit version of PM865K01: it includes the BC820 baseplate (which accepts two PM865 CPUs + sync cable + two PSUs) versus BC810 (single CPU) in K01. K02 may also bundle two 24 V DC DIN-rail PSUs (e.g., SD822/SD823) for redundant power feeding the controller. This is the standard offer for new System 800xA nodes requiring high-availability (no single point of failure on controller side).

Description

ABB PM865K02

Technical Specs / Features / Applications / Structure / Working Principle / Installation / Precautions: Identical to PM865 CPU above — the only difference is the inclusion of BC820 (dual-slot baseplate) instead of BC810, and possibly redundant PSUs.

  • Installation Note: Mount BC820 on DIN rail; insert two PM865 CPUs (left = Primary, right = Standby — or vice versa per config); connect sync cable between them (short flat cable supplied); connect 24 V DC to both PSU terminals on baseplate; download project; verify Standby SYNC LED → Run both green.
  • Precaution: Both CPUs must have same firmware; after first download, standby auto-syncs — do NOT download separately to standby. If replacing one CPU in pair, insert new CPU → it auto-loads app from primary after sync (may take 30–60 s).
