- Mount on DIN rail near CT/VT secondary termination;
- Wire CT secondaries (observe polarity — K→Ia+, K→Ib+, K→Ic+; J→N/common) & VT secondaries (observe polarity & fuse); CT secondaries MUST be closed (shorted) until PMAconnected & verified — NEVER leave CT secondary open — lethal HV!
- Connect 24 V DC / 100–240 V AC supply; connect RS-485 A/B to plant network (daisy-chain with terminating resistors at ends)
- In PMA config software (or via Modbus registers): set PT prim/sec, CT prim/sec, system type (3P3W / 3P4W), comm parameters (baud, node addr)
- Precautions:
- CT circuits: ALWAYS close CT secondary loop before energizing primary; after de-energizing primary, short CT secondaries before disconnecting PMA — open CT = dangerous HV & CT damage
- Verify PT fuses present & correctly rated
- For energy billing: use class 0.5S CT + PMA energy class 0.5S — seal CT/PT terminals per local revenue-metering regs if applicable
- Do NOT exceed VT input range — applying >690 V L-L to 230 V range input damages device
