- After power-up, standby CPU syncs image from primary via sync link → SYNC LED green
- On primary failure → standby takes over within one scan (<10 ms bump); retentive vars preserved
- Precaution: If replacing a CPU in redundant pair — insert new CPU → it auto-syncs from partner (takes 30–90 s). If replacing baseplate — ensure SM811 battery / supercap transferred or new one installed & battery good. Keep battery replacement per PM (3–5 yr). Firmware on both CPUs must be identical.
- For BC820: sync is internal — “SM811K01” spare often = battery pack + sync cable (for service). Verify exact content against BOM — some regions sell SM811 as the sync/eeprom module separate from battery.
