ABB SPDSI14

Product Brief: SPDSI14 is the high-density or alternate-voltage sibling of SPDSI13 in the S100 I/O family:

  • Most commonly: 32 × 24 V DC DI in a single S100 module (2 groups × 16 ch) — saves rack space vs two SPDSI13
  • Less commonly (dep. on regional catalog): 16 × 48 V DC or 110 V DC DI — for direct connection to breaker aux contacts, protection relay contacts (110 V DC utility grade) — in that case it is the 110 V DC DI module (SPDSI14 = 110 V version; SPDSI13 = 24 V version)

Check the module front label for voltage grade & channel count — “24 V DC 32 ch” or “110 V DC 16 ch”.

ABB SPDSI14

Technical Specifications / Features / Applications / Material / Structure / Working Principle / Installation / Precautions:

  • If 32 ch 24 V DC: same electrical specs as SPDSI13 per channel (7 mA, threshold 11 V/5 V) — just doubled density; group isolation per 16 ch
  • If 110 V DC version: input threshold ON ≥88 V DC, OFF ≤30 V DC; input current ≈1–2 mA; handles utility-grade wet contacts directly (no interposing relay)
  • Mount / wire / configure same as SPDSI13 — in config tool choose exact type (SPDSI14 24V32ch or SPDSI14 110V16ch)
  • Precaution (110 V version): Hazardous voltage present on terminals even if logic de-energized — use finger-safe terminal covers; NEVER apply 110 V DC to 24 V DC version (SPDSI13/SPDSI14-24V) — immediate damage. For 32 ch version: ensure S100 bus PSU can supply total input current (32 ch × 7 mA = 224 mA + module logic ≈300 mA @24 V from bus PSU — size SPU01 accordingly).
  • Same S100 bus termination & hot-swap rules as SPDSI13.
