Alcatel-Lucent OS9-GNI-U24

Product Introduction: Alcatel-Lucent OS9-GNI-U24 is hot-swappable gigabit copper interface blade for OmniSwitch 9000 chassis core switch. This module provides 24 electrical gigabit RJ45 ports for twisted pair copper cable connection. It is deployed to connect access layer switches, servers, workstations and IP terminal devices to core or aggregation switch chassis. It supports auto-negotiation of speed and duplex mode, and implements wire-speed layer 2 switching and layer 3 routing. The module integrates ESD and surge protection for copper ports to resist transient interference from building wiring. It supports AOS network operating system for unified network management, QoS scheduling and network security control.

Real-time port status monitoring, cable diagnostic and link fault reporting. Hot swap support for online module replacement without chassis power cut. Front panel LED indicators for link, traffic activity and module fault status.

Application Scenarios: Data center server rack access connection, enterprise office access aggregation, factory control room industrial terminal connection, security camera centralized access, IP telephone network aggregation, building wiring closet core expansion, campus network user aggregation.

Performance Parameters: Full wire-speed packet forwarding on all 24 gigabit copper ports under full load. Low packet forwarding latency for data, voice and video mixed traffic. Support jumbo frame up to 9216 bytes. Continuous operation: 24 hours stable operation in temperature-controlled equipment room. Built-in port buffer memory to absorb traffic burst from connected terminals.

Material Composition: PCB substrate: Multi-layer FR4 high TG glass fiber epoxy printed circuit board. Core components: Gigabit switching ASIC, physical layer transceiver chips, power management IC, ESD protection diode array. Front panel: Black painted aluminum alloy panel with 24 RJ45 cutouts and LED windows. Backplane connector: Gold plated copper alloy high-speed differential pins. RJ45 connectors: Shielded metal shell RJ45 with gold plated contact pins.

Structural Features: Horizontal plug-in blade structure matching OmniSwitch 9000 chassis slot. Front panel with 24 RJ45 ports and corresponding LED indicators arranged in matrix layout. Internal circuit divided into chassis backplane high-speed interface area, 24-port PHY signal area and ASIC processing area. Internal metal shielding structure to reduce crosstalk between adjacent copper ports. Built-in metal heat sink for ASIC thermal dissipation. Rear side equipped with mechanical locking latch and fastening screw. Chassis forced air cooling channel passing through module power and ASIC components.

Working Principle: Module receives power supply from OmniSwitch 9000 chassis backplane. Twisted pair cable signal enters module through connector. PHY chip completes signal coding, decoding and auto speed negotiation. Data packets are transmitted to switching ASIC. ASIC performs MAC address lookup, VLAN processing, routing decision and packet forwarding. Packets are delivered to target port PHY chip and transmitted to connected terminal through copper cable. Port monitoring circuit detects link status, cable fault and signal quality continuously. Fault information is uploaded to chassis supervisor controller, and LED indicators change state to display alarm condition. Configuration data is saved to on-board non-volatile memory.

Installation Requirements: Chassis can remain powered on for hot swap operation. Insert OS9-GNI-U24 blade horizontally into empty chassis slot and tighten front panel locking screw. Connect Cat5e or higher grade twisted pair cables to ports. Configure port speed, duplex, VLAN and link aggregation parameters under AOS operating system. Ensure cabinet protective earth ground connection is reliable. Keep equipment room temperature within rated operating range. Reserve front and rear ventilation clearance of the chassis. Separate network signal cables from high voltage power cables in different cable trays.

Usage Notes: Backup switch configuration before installing new module or performing firmware upgrade. Use shielded twisted pair cables in high electromagnetic interference industrial environment. Regularly inspect connector tightness and LED indicator status. Wear anti-static wristband when handling module. Do not exceed maximum 100m copper cable transmission distance. Do not operate module outside rated temperature and humidity range. Prevent dust and conductive debris entering port sockets.
