Description
Bently 3500/20-02-02-00
Technical Specifications
- Module Type: Dual Channel Relay Output
- Channel Count: 2 independent relay channels
- Contact Form: SPDT (Single Pole Double Throw)
- Slot Requirement: Any available monitor slot
Functional Features
- Electrical Isolation: Provides galvanic isolation between the 3500 rack electronics and external field wiring, protecting the system from field transients.
- Flexible Logic Mapping: Relay states can be mapped to any combination of alarm, danger, or module fault conditions via configuration software.
- Fail-Safe Design: Relays are normally energized; loss of power or module failure causes the relay to de-energize, triggering a safe state.
Application Scenarios
Used to interface the 3500 monitoring system with plant DCS, PLCs, annunciator panels, and remote indicator lights.
Performance Parameters
- Operating Temperature: -30°C to +65°C
- Storage Temperature: -40°C to +85°C
- Humidity: 95% non-condensing
- Contact Rating: 2A at 24 Vdc / 1A at 120 Vac
Material Composition
Industrial-grade electromechanical relays with gold-plated contacts for low-level signal switching reliability. Anti-vibration potting compounds are used internally.
Structural Characteristics
Full-height module with front-panel LEDs indicating the status of each relay channel. Rear connections are made via the 96-pin rack backplane.
Working Principle
Continuously monitors the backplane for configured trigger conditions. When a condition is met, the internal microcontroller energizes or de-energizes the relay coil, changing the state of the SPDT contacts.
Installation Requirements
Install in any available monitor slot. External wiring must use appropriate gauge wire and be protected by external fusing.
Usage Notes
Verify the contact rating does not exceed the module specifications. Inductive loads (e.g., solenoids) must be suppressed with flyback diodes or RC snubbers to prevent contact welding.
