Description
Bently 3500 50M (288062-02, 133442-01)
Technical Specifications
- Model: 3500/50M (288062-02, 133442-01)
- Channels: 2 independent monitoring channels
- Input Signal Range: +10.0 V to -24.0 V
- System Compatibility: 3500 Series Machinery Protection System
Functional Features
- Flexible Configuration: Programmable for speed monitoring with setpoint alarms, speed band alarms, zero speed indication, rotor acceleration alarms, or reverse rotation indication.
- Keyphasor Signal Generation: Can be configured to provide a Keyphasor signal to the backplane, eliminating the need for a separate Keyphasor module.
- Peak Hold Function: Stores the highest speed reached by the machine, which can be manually reset by the user.
Application Scenarios
Widely deployed on steam turbines, compressors, fans, and pumps to monitor rotational speed, detect overspeed conditions, and provide zero-speed indication for turning gear operations.
Performance Parameters
- Measurement Accuracy: ± 20 rpm/min
- Power Consumption: 5.8 Watts (typical)
- Input Impedance: 20 kΩ (standard)
Material Composition
Constructed with high-strength, flame-retardant industrial plastics and conformal-coated internal circuit boards for superior environmental protection.
Structural Characteristics
Standard 3500 module form factor with front-panel LEDs for OK, TX/RX, and Bypass status indication, and a precision backplane connector.
Working Principle
Receives pulse signals from proximity probes or magnetic pickups, calculates the rotational speed based on the pulse frequency, and continuously compares the measured value against user-defined alarm thresholds to trigger protection actions.
Installation Requirements
Insert into an available slot in the 3500 rack. Sensor wiring must use shielded cables, and proper grounding is mandatory to prevent electrical noise interference.
Precautions for Use
This module is strictly for monitoring and indication purposes. It must not be used as a primary component for machinery overspeed protection or speed control systems. Use the 3500/53 module for dedicated overspeed protection.
