Description
Honeywell 51400855-100
Technical Specifications Interface: Redundant A/B UCN coaxial links Backplane Interface: HPM local parallel backplane bus Communication Rate: 5Mbps Power Supply: 5V DC Power Consumption: 7.7W Operating Temperature Range: 0℃ to 60℃ Storage Temperature Range: -40℃ to 85℃ Isolation Withstand Voltage: 1500V AC
Functional Features Redundant dual-link automatic switching. Control service remains continuous when one link fails. It executes hardware CRC check for every UCN frame and discards error frames. It balances bus load and prevents network congestion caused by burst data. It monitors link signal strength, transceiver chip and backplane channel continuously and uploads fault information. It supports hot swap. It synchronizes communication data between primary and standby HPM controllers for bumpless switchover.
Application Scenarios HPM high-performance process manager connection to UCN control network. Communication channel replacement for failed UCN interface of APM advanced process manager. Network expansion and new control station access for legacy TDC3000 systems.
Performance Parameters Frame Forwarding Latency: ≤70μs Link Switching Time: ≤12ms Maximum Supported I/O Nodes: 128
Material Composition PCB Substrate: High-TG multi-layer FR-4 board with separate digital and RF copper layout 32-bit communication protocol processing chip Differential signal transceiver chip Gold-plated back edge fingers Aluminum alloy front panel with anodized treatment
Structural Features Standard European pluggable card, installed in dedicated communication slot of HPM rack. Front panel equipped with run indicator, fault indicator, A link indicator and B link indicator. Two sets of BNC coaxial connectors for UCN links on the side of the card. Differential signal traces adopt equal-length layout to reduce timing deviation.
Working Principle The module receives control commands from HPM main processor, encapsulates data into standard UCN protocol frames and sends frames through active UCN link. It receives process data and fault frames uploaded from UCN I/O cards, decodes frames and converts serial data into parallel backplane signals for HPM main processor. It monitors signal quality of two links and switches automatically when active link fails. Fault status is uploaded to system diagnostic screen.
Installation Requirements Insert the module vertically into dedicated communication slot and tighten front panel screws. Adopt 50Ω standard coaxial cables for UCN links. Tighten BNC connectors and ensure reliable shielding ground. After power on, confirm both links are online without communication error in HPM diagnostic page. For redundant HPM architecture, two interface modules connect to two independent UCN buses separately.
Precautions Release static electricity before plugging to avoid damage to differential transceiver chips. Check coaxial cables, T connectors and terminators first when communication abnormality occurs. Overheating caused by rack fan failure will lead to intermittent packet loss. Firmware version must match the whole HPM and UCN network version. Version mismatch will cause offline failure.
