Structural Characteristics
- Short 5.2 inch sleeve for compact installations
- No standoff adapter, direct mounting
- 1.0 meter integral cable
- Standard dome cover
- 3/4-14 NPT mounting thread
Working Principle The short sleeve positions the probe tip at a shallow depth within the machine casing. The reverse mount probe faces the shaft from the interior of the housing, with the 5.2 inch sleeve providing the necessary reach for thin-wall applications. The probe generates an eddy-current field that interacts with the shaft surface, producing a voltage signal proportional to the gap distance.
Installation Requirements
- Mount in 3/4-14 NPT threaded hole
- Verify 5.2 inch internal clearance
- Route 1.0 meter cable through conduit
- Adjust gap to -10 Vdc
- Ensure mounting surface is flat
Usage Precautions
- Short penetration means less internal clearance required
- Verify no internal obstructions within 5.2 inches of mounting surface
- Counterbore machine case if penetration is between 1.0 and 2.0 inches to reduce side view effects
- Standard sleeve support not required for this length
