Structural Characteristics
- No standoff adapter, housing mounts flush to machine surface
- 8.9 inch probe sleeve
- 1.0 meter integral cable
- Standard dome cover with threaded retention
- 3/4-14 NPT mounting thread
Working Principle Without the standoff adapter, the housing body mounts directly to the machine casing, and the probe sleeve penetrates to the full 8.9 inch depth. This configuration eliminates the mechanical offset provided by the standoff, positioning the probe tip closer to the mounting surface relative to the target. The eddy-current probe operates identically, sensing gap changes through electromagnetic field interaction with the conductive shaft.
Installation Requirements
- Mounting surface must be flat and perpendicular to shaft centerline
- 3/4-14 NPT threads must be full depth to accept housing
- Verify 8.9 inch internal clearance
- Route 1.0 meter cable through conduit entry
- Adjust probe gap to -10 Vdc
Usage Precautions
- No standoff means housing sits closer to machine surface; verify clearance for dome cover removal
- Ensure mounting surface is clean and flat for proper sealing
- Sleeve length under 12 inches does not require additional support
- Verify thread engagement depth before installation
