Structural Characteristics
- 1.5 inch standoff adapter between housing and machine surface
- 3.4 inch probe sleeve
- 1.0 meter integral cable
- Standard dome cover
- 3/4-14 NPT mounting thread
Working Principle The standoff adapter creates a mechanical offset between the machine casing and the housing body. The 3.4 inch sleeve extends from the housing through the standoff to position the probe tip near the shaft. This configuration is particularly useful when the external machine surface has ribs, fittings, or other features that would interfere with direct mounting. The eddy-current sensing operates identically to other configurations.
Installation Requirements
- Mount standoff adapter to machine surface
- Thread housing into standoff with 3/4-14 NPT
- Verify 3.4 inches internal clearance beyond standoff
- Route cable through conduit
- Adjust gap to -10 Vdc
Usage Precautions
- Short penetration may require counterboring to prevent side view effects
- Verify standoff adapter is properly seated against machine surface
- Ensure total external height (standoff plus housing) does not interfere with adjacent equipment
- Check O-ring seals at both standoff and dome cover
