Working Principle The probe operates on the eddy current proximity principle. The Proximitor Sensor supplies a high-frequency RF signal to the probe tip through the triaxial cable. When the probe approaches a conductive target, eddy currents are generated in the target surface. The resulting change in RF field intensity is detected and converted to a DC voltage that is linearly proportional to the gap distance between the probe tip and the target.
