Working Principle The extension cable transmits the high-frequency RF signal from the Proximitor Sensor to the probe tip and returns the modified signal back to the Proximitor Sensor. The triaxial design maintains signal integrity by providing separate inner and outer shielding. The 8.0 meter cable length is precisely controlled to match the electrical length requirements of the 3300 XL transducer system.
Installation Requirements Route the cable between the probe and Proximitor Sensor avoiding sharp bends below the 25.4 mm minimum radius. Keep the cable away from high voltage conductors and strong electromagnetic fields. Connect the cable to the probe and sensor by finger-tightening the ClickLoc connectors until they lock into place. The maximum connector torque is 0.565 N·m (5 in·lbf). The total electrical length of the probe plus extension cable must equal the Proximitor Sensor electrical length.
Usage Precautions Do not exceed the minimum bend radius of 25.4 mm. Avoid routing the cable through areas with temperatures exceeding +177°C. The standard cable does not provide oil leak prevention. Order FluidLoc cable option for applications where oil leakage through the cable interior is a concern. Use connector protectors or silicone tape to seal connections in humid environments. Silicone tape is not recommended for connections exposed to turbine oil.
