Functional Features The 30 mm case length provides an ultra-compact installation profile ideal for space-constrained steam turbine applications. The probe features front and rear seals combined with standard FluidLoc cable to prevent moisture ingress. Special high-temperature ClickLoc connectors are standard. The probe is a direct replacement for legacy 7200 series 25 mm and 35 mm probes. The multiple agency approvals enable global deployment.
Application Scenarios Steam turbine differential expansion monitoring, compact turbomachinery installations, gas turbine axial position measurement, industrial compressor monitoring, generator bearing monitoring, predictive maintenance systems, hazardous area rotating equipment monitoring.
Performance Parameters The probe resistance is 6.2 ± 0.5 Ω for the 1.0 meter length. The probe delivers 0.787 V/mm sensitivity with linearity within system specifications. The 30 mm case withstands the same temperature and pressure specifications as longer case variants. The system is certified to FCC Part 15, EN 61000-6-2/4 EMC, and ABS Maritime standards.
Material Composition Probe tip is polyetheretherketone (PEEK). Probe case is AISI 304 stainless steel. Cable is 75 Ω triaxial with PFA-insulated FluidLoc construction. Connector material is gold-plated brass.
Structural Characteristics The probe features M30 x 2 metric thread with a locknut containing pre-drilled safety wire holes. The 30 mm case is one of the shortest standard configurations in the 25 mm series. The non-armored cable has a standard outside diameter for flexible routing. The ClickLoc connector features a removable collar for routing through tight clearances.
Working Principle The probe operates using eddy current proximity sensing. An RF signal from the Proximitor Sensor creates an electromagnetic field at the 25 mm probe tip. Eddy currents induced in the conductive target surface cause a measurable impedance change. The Proximitor Sensor converts this into a DC voltage directly proportional to the physical gap between the probe tip and the target surface.
