Structural Characteristics The probe features 1/4-28 UNF thread with a compact 4.0 inch case length. The 0.0 inch unthreaded length means the thread extends fully to the probe shoulder. The armored cable has an increased outside diameter for mechanical protection. The probe comes with a locknut for secure mounting.
Working Principle The probe operates using eddy current proximity sensing. An RF signal from the Proximitor Sensor creates an electromagnetic field at the 5 mm probe tip. Eddy currents induced in the conductive target surface cause a measurable impedance change. The Proximitor Sensor converts this into a DC voltage directly proportional to the gap distance.
