Bently Nevada 330905-00-15-10-02-05

Product Overview The 330905-00-15-10-02-05 is a standard mount proximity probe from the Bently Nevada 3300 NSv transducer family. It features an M10×1 metric fine thread, 150 mm overall case length, and 1.0 meter integral cable with miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector. The probe is designed for non-contact measurement of shaft vibration and position in rotating machinery where space constraints limit the use of standard 8 mm probes. The multiple agency approval option ensures compliance with global hazardous area standards.

Working Principle The probe contains a precision-wound coil that, when excited by the Proximitor sensor’s RF signal, generates an alternating electromagnetic field at the probe tip. When a conductive metal target enters this field, eddy currents are induced in the target surface. These eddy currents draw energy from the coil, altering its impedance in proportion to the gap distance. The Proximitor sensor detects this impedance change and converts it into a linear voltage output proportional to the physical gap between probe tip and target.

Installation Requirements

  • Mount in M10×1 threaded hole perpendicular to target surface
  • Ensure maximum thread engagement does not exceed 15 mm
  • Set initial probe gap to 1.0 mm (40 mils) for center of linear range
  • Verify gap voltage of approximately -10 Vdc after installation
  • Route cable away from high-current power conductors
  • Maintain minimum bend radius of 25.4 mm

Usage Precautions

  • Do not exceed maximum torque of 33.9 N·m during installation
  • Verify target material is ferromagnetic steel for standard calibration
  • Maintain minimum distance of 3 probe diameters from surrounding metal objects
  • Inspect ClickLoc connector for secure mechanical latching after mating
  • Replace O-ring seals during major overhauls to maintain pressure integrity
  • Do not use with standard 3300 XL Proximitor; NSv-specific components required
