Working Principle: The module receives alarm status and measurement data from monitoring modules through the rack backplane. Internal logic circuits evaluate input signals based on user-programmed AND/OR logic conditions. When alarm conditions are satisfied, the corresponding relay is energized. The fail-safe design ensures that in the event of module power loss or internal failure, relays automatically return to the predetermined safe position, preventing protection function failure due to module malfunction.
Installation Requirements:
- Install in any slot to the right of the Transient Data Interface module
- Relay output wiring connects through front panel terminals
- External load wiring must observe contact ratings to avoid overload
- Install arc suppression devices for inductive loads
- Ensure proper rack grounding
Use Precautions:
- Requires 3500 Rack Configuration Software version 3.3 or higher
- Requires 3500 Data Acquisition Software version 2.40 or higher
- Requires 3500 Data Display Software version 1.40 or higher
- Relay output wiring must use appropriate wire gauge for current capacity
- Inspect relay contact condition regularly, replace module if contact erosion is found
- In hazardous areas, confirm explosion protection certification meets site requirements
- Fail-safe module wiring logic must be consistent with system safety philosophy
