DEIF CSQ-3

Product Introduction CSQ-3 is a microprocessor-based panel-mounted synchronising instrument manufactured by DEIF. It performs voltage, frequency and phase angle comparison between generator and busbar sources for generator synchronisation. This unit supports manual and semi-automatic grid connection for land power stations and marine vessel power systems. It integrates LED phase indication, measurement monitoring and synchronising relay output into a single Q96 panel device.

Functional Features Circular LED array displays real-time phase angle difference between two sources; push-button programming sets voltage difference, frequency difference and phase angle closing limits; dead-bus synchronisation function enables generator closing onto de-energised busbars; high immunity to harmonic distortion in distorted power networks; internal self-diagnosis detects supply faults and signal loss; relay contact releases closing signal only after all synchronising conditions satisfy configured thresholds; marine variant carries DNV GL marine type approval.

Application Scenarios Marine main switchboards, offshore generator control panels, land-based standby generator control cabinets, remote power station synchronising panels, industrial combined heat and power generator systems.

Material Composition Front faceplate: flame-retardant self-extinguishing plastic conforming to UL94 V0; internal PCB: FR4 multilayer printed circuit board with SMD measurement circuits; LED light elements; silver alloy relay contact components; screw terminals accepting 2.5 mm² single-stranded wire and 1.5 mm² multi-stranded wire; silicone sealing gasket for front panel.

Structural Characteristics Standard Q96 square panel form; front face contains circular LED synchroscope ring, status indicators and programming push buttons; rear section accommodates signal terminals, auxiliary power terminals and relay output terminals; internal layout separates high-voltage measurement circuits and low-voltage control circuits to reduce interference.

Working Principle Voltage sampling circuits acquire AC waveforms from generator and busbar. The microprocessor calculates voltage amplitude difference, frequency deviation and phase angle offset. Circular LEDs illuminate to indicate relative phase rotation speed and position. When all measured deviations fall inside preset thresholds, the internal relay energises and sends closing permission signal to generator circuit breaker.

Installation Requirements Install inside standard 96 × 96 mm instrument panel cutout; secure panel retaining clips evenly; use twisted pair wiring for AC voltage measurement inputs; route measurement cables away from high-current power and motor cables; connect protective earth terminal to switchboard earth bar; verify auxiliary supply voltage matches unit rating before power application.

Operation Notes Do not adjust set points while generator is live and synchronising circuit is active; inspect front sealing gasket after repeated panel removal; confirm marine certification marking before installation on vessel switchboards; avoid exposure to continuous oil mist and salt spray without enclosure protection.
