Material Composition:
- Molded Case Housing: High strength flame retardant thermosetting plastic
- Contact Material: Silver tungsten alloy main contacts
- Arc Chamber: Insulating ceramic and arc splitter plates
- Operating Mechanism: High strength steel mechanical linkage
- Terminals: Tin-plated copper lugs for cable or busbar connection
- Trip Element: Bimetallic thermal strip and magnetic coil assembly
Structural Features:
- Large rectangular molded case enclosure
- Front central operating handle with on/off/trip position indication
- Internal arc quenching chamber above contact assembly
- Bimetallic thermal element and magnetic trip coil installed inside each pole
- Top and bottom terminals for line side and load side wiring
- Mechanical interlock prevents cover removal under live condition
Working Principle: When circuit overload occurs, current heats bimetallic strip. Bimetallic strip bends and triggers mechanical trip mechanism to open main contacts. During short circuit fault, strong magnetic flux from high fault current pulls magnetic armature instantly and trips breaker. Arc generated during contact opening enters arc quenching chamber, split and cooled by arc splitter plates until arc extinguishes. Operating handle moves to trip position after fault interruption.
Installation Requirements:
- Mount breaker on cabinet busbar or panel mounting plate
- Use specified torque to tighten cable lug or busbar connection screws
- Maintain sufficient clearance around breaker for heat dissipation
- Separate power wiring from low voltage control signal cables
- Connect protective earth for cabinet enclosure
- Keep ambient temperature within operating range
- Avoid installation location with corrosive gas and heavy dust
Usage Notes:
- Verify rated current and voltage match circuit design before energizing
- Do not adjust fixed trip unit parameters, trip characteristic is factory fixed
- Inspect contact terminals for overheating and discoloration during routine inspection
- Replace breaker if plastic housing shows burn mark or damage after heavy fault trip
- Wear proper arc flash personal protective equipment for live inspection
- Disconnect upstream power before opening breaker cover
