Emerson 12P6381X042

Product Introduction: 12P6381X042 is a dedicated I/O backplane for Emerson DeltaV DCS system. It serves as the electrical connection carrier for multiple I/O modules, power supply modules and communication modules inside the control rack. It transmits power supply, backplane bus communication signals and module status signals between every plugged module. It provides mechanical positioning and fixed installation base for all rack modules.

Description

Emerson 12P6381X042

Technical Specifications: Rated operating voltage 24VDC. Support up to 12 module slots. Operating temperature -40°C ~ +70°C. Storage temperature -40°C ~ +85°C. Backplane bus communication rate 1Mbps. Bus signal isolation design between adjacent slots.

Functional Features: Provide power distribution and bus signal transmission for all modules on rack. Mechanical positioning and support for plug-in modules. Support hot-swap signal circuit design for compatible modules. Built-in bus termination circuit. Support module identification and automatic addressing through backplane communication.

Application Scenarios: Petrochemical DCS control cabinets, thermal power plant auxiliary control racks, pharmaceutical process control systems, natural gas compressor control cabinets, municipal water treatment control rooms.

Performance Parameters: Bus signal transmission error rate less than 10^-12. Maximum load current of whole backplane 25A. MTBF 600000 hours under normal working environment. Contact resistance of each slot connector less than 10mΩ.

Material Composition: Base board uses thick FR-4 high strength flame retardant PCB. Mechanical positioning bracket adopts glass fiber reinforced plastic. Slot spring contact terminals are gold-plated beryllium copper alloy. Bus traces use heavy copper plating to carry large current.

Structural Features: Rack-mounted long strip structure matching DeltaV standard cabinet. Each slot has independent spring contact pin group. Predefined power traces and communication bus traces inside PCB. Fixed mounting holes on both ends for fastening to cabinet frame.

Working Principle: Power supply module transmits 24VDC power to each slot through internal copper traces of backplane. Communication bus routes run across all slots to realize data exchange between controller and I/O modules. When module inserts into slot, gold-plated spring pins make electrical contact automatically. Backplane bus transmits module identity information, measurement data and fault diagnostic signals bidirectionally.

Installation Requirements: Mount horizontally inside DeltaV control cabinet. Fasten mounting screws to specified torque. Complete cabinet grounding wire connection. Keep ventilation space around backplane, avoid blocking air flow channel. Check slot pins for bending or damage before installing modules.

Usage Notes: Do not install backplane in environment with condensed moisture. Avoid scratching gold-plated contact pins during module insertion and removal. Do not short circuit power bus traces on backplane. Inspect pin condition regularly during system overhaul.
