Emerson 1C31124G01

Product Overview:
The Emerson 1C31124G01 is a high-performance digital input module designed for the Emerson Ovation distributed control system. It is specifically engineered to acquire 24 VDC discrete (on/off) signals from field devices such as limit switches, proximity sensors, motor starters, and interlock contacts. This module provides clean, time-accurate status inputs to the Ovation controller with plant-grade reliability, making it ideal for turbine control, balance-of-plant systems, and water process applications where dependable discrete signal acquisition is essential.

Working Principle:
The 1C31124G01 continuously monitors the voltage state on each of its discrete input channels. When a field device (such as a limit switch or relay contact) closes, it applies 24 VDC to the input channel. The module’s input conditioning circuit filters out contact bounce and electrical noise, then converts the analog voltage level to a clean digital state (on/off). These digital states are timestamped (in SOE-capable revisions) and transmitted to the Ovation controller via the backplane bus. The controller uses these status inputs for logic decisions, interlocks, alarms, and sequence-of-events recording.
