Functional Features Screw clamping terminals deliver consistent clamping force for field signal cables. Built-in surge suppression components divert energy from lightning surges and power switching transients to protective ground. Independent test jack beside each channel allows technicians to measure signal status without disconnecting field cables. Internal PCB traces realize one-to-one mapping between field wiring terminals and module channel pins. The mechanical locking buckle enables fast assembly and separation between terminal base and DI module without removing field wiring.
Application Scenarios Ovation DCS main control cabinets and remote I/O cabinets deployed in thermal power plants, chemical processing plants, pulp and paper mills, and metallurgical facilities. It accepts wiring from limit switches, pressure switches, relay auxiliary contacts, equipment running status feedback switches and safety interlock contact devices.
Performance Parameters Terminal clamping structure maintains reliable electrical contact under continuous low-frequency cabinet vibration. Surge suppression circuit responds instantly to absorb transient overvoltage pulses. Internal signal traces keep ultra-low signal loss for 24VDC discrete status signals. Terminals preserve stable clamping performance after repeated wiring and disassembly cycles.
Material Composition Housing adopts flame-retardant PA engineering plastic. Internal circuit board uses multi-layer flame-retardant glass fiber epoxy PCB. Screw terminals are nickel-plated copper. Integrated transient suppression diodes and current-limiting resistors are welded on PCB. Contact pins connecting to I/O module are gold-plated copper alloy.
Structural Features Front-mounted assembly matched with Ovation DI module. Multiple rows of neatly arranged screw wiring terminals. Independent test jack reserved for each signal channel. Front mechanical locking buckle ensures firm connection with I/O module. Rear contact pins mate precisely with the front connector of digital input card.
Working Principle Field switch contact wires connect to screw terminals on terminal base. Discrete 24VDC status signals pass through surge protection components and PCB internal traces, then transmit to contact pins connected with digital input module. When surge overvoltage occurs on field cables, protection components shunt surge energy to protective ground. Test jacks directly access signal loop for on-site signal inspection and troubleshooting.
Installation Requirements Align terminal base connector with front connector of digital input module and fasten mechanical buckle. Strip wire insulation to specified length and tighten terminal screws with standard torque value. Use shielded twisted pair cables for field switch wiring, implement single-point shield grounding inside control cabinet. Avoid pulling stress applied to terminals during cable routing.
Precautions for Use Disconnect field loop power before wiring operation. Do not over-tighten terminal screws to prevent thread damage. Inspect terminal screw tightness during routine maintenance. Prevent metal fragments falling into terminal assembly. Do not apply voltage exceeding rated value to signal terminals.
