Working Principle The module communicates with Ovation controller through rack backplane bus. It receives control commands from controller, forwards data to remote I/O racks through external communication bus. Measurement and status data uploaded from remote I/O racks transmit back to controller after protocol processing. Onboard circuit continuously monitors bus signal quality, records fault events and sends alarm information to DCS system once communication fault occurs.
Installation Requirements Power off rack before installation. Insert module into designated rack slot and lock mechanical latch. Use shielded twisted pair communication cables for remote bus wiring. Implement single-point shield grounding inside control cabinet. Configure remote I/O network address and communication parameters in DCS engineering station. Keep rack ventilation unblocked.
Precautions for Use Take anti-static protection during module handling. Backup network configuration before module replacement. Do not touch gold-plated backplane connector directly. Inspect communication cable tightness and insulation regularly. Avoid overvoltage applied to external bus terminals.
