Front panel LED indicators display communication link state and fault alarms. Supports redundant controller architecture for critical process control loops. Supports hot swap in redundant rack configuration.
Application Scenarios Installed inside Ovation DCS control racks in thermal power, chemical, pulp and paper industries. Used to connect Ovation controller and I/O rack backplane to realize data exchange between control core and field I/O hardware.
Performance Parameters
- High-speed stable bidirectional data transmission
- Low communication latency for real-time process control
- High immunity against industrial electromagnetic interference
- Automatic fault reporting for communication interruption
Material Composition Flame-retardant glass fiber epoxy PCB substrate. Communication processing chips and isolation components are soldered on PCB. Gold-plated backplane connector pins provide stable low-resistance contact. Front panel and structural parts use flame-retardant plastic. Metal shielding layer suppresses external electromagnetic interference.
Structural Characteristics Standard plug-in card form factor for Ovation rack slots. Front panel equipped with status LED indicators. Mechanical locking buckle prevents module displacement under vibration. Internal circuit separates controller communication circuit and backplane bus circuit to reduce crosstalk.
Working Principle The controller sends control instructions to the interface module. The module processes communication frames and transmits data to I/O modules through rack backplane bus. Data and status signals returned from I/O modules are packaged and transmitted back to Ovation controller. Onboard watchdog circuit monitors bus communication quality in real time and reports communication faults once timeout or signal loss occurs.
Installation Requirements Insert the module into dedicated controller interface slot of Ovation rack and fasten locking buckle. Ensure full contact between module connector and rack backplane. Maintain cabinet ventilation channel unobstructed. Guarantee reliable protective grounding of control cabinet. Separate communication cables from high-voltage power cables.
Use Precautions Cut off rack power supply before removing module in non-redundant systems. Avoid physical impact to circuit board during handling. Prevent metal debris falling onto connector pins. Replace module immediately if persistent communication failure occurs after cable inspection.
