Working Principle: The flow computer receives pulse signals from flow meters and analog signals from pressure, temperature and density transmitters. The onboard processor applies selected industry standard algorithms to calculate volumetric and mass flow, and performs temperature and pressure compensation. It accumulates forward, reverse and error flow totals and stores data in triple memory locations. HART channels read device diagnostic information from field transmitters. Calculated flow data, alarms and event records transmit to upper SCADA or DCS through Ethernet or serial ports.
Installation Requirements:
- Install unit inside ventilated field control cabinet to avoid direct sunlight and rain
- Use shielded twisted pair cables for analog, pulse and HART field wiring
- Separate low-level measurement cables from high voltage power cables
- Connect protective earth terminal to cabinet earth bar
- Verify cable shielding single-point grounding to eliminate ground loops
- Maintain cabinet ambient temperature within -10 °C to +60 °C
- Install surge protection devices for field wiring in lightning-prone areas
Usage Notes:
- Select correct calculation standard and meter type before commissioning
- Perform meter factor configuration and calibration for each measurement stream
- Backup configuration and historical data before firmware upgrade
- Replace backup lithium battery before end of service life to prevent data loss
- Perform custody transfer audit and periodic verification according to metering regulation
- Do not modify fiscal calculation parameters without authorized metering approval
