Working Principle
Field transmitters send 4-20 mA signals to the KJ3002X1-BC1 analog input channels. The module conditions each current signal, converts it into a digital value, and transfers the data to the DeltaV controller through the backplane. HART digital signals superimposed on the 4-20 mA loop are passed through to support device configuration, diagnostics, and status monitoring. The module can also supply 24 V DC power to field devices, simplifying wiring for two-wire instruments.
Installation Requirements
- Install the module only in a compatible DeltaV carrier.
- Set the terminal block key position to A1 before connecting field wiring.
- Verify that field power and local bus power requirements are satisfied.
- Use shielded instrument cable for 4-20 mA and HART signals.
- Separate instrument wiring from power cables to reduce electrical noise.
- Confirm that the field loop voltage is sufficient for the connected transmitter and HART communication.
- After installation, verify channel status through DeltaV diagnostics or AMS Device Manager.
