Emerson KJ3004X1-EA1

Product Introduction Emerson KJ3004X1-EA1 is a dedicated safety power supply module for DeltaV SIS safety instrumented system. This module converts input DC power into stable regulated DC power to supply power for SIS rack, safety controller, I/O modules and communication modules. It adopts redundant power design and continuous hardware self-diagnosis to monitor output voltage, output current and internal temperature. The module sends power fault alarm information to DeltaV system once overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent or overtemperature failure occurs.

Functional Features Convert raw 24V DC input into stabilized DC power for all modules in DeltaV SIS rack. Multiple protection mechanisms including overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent and overtemperature protection. Continuous self-diagnosis monitors output voltage, load current and internal operating temperature. Front panel LED indicators display power running status and fault alarm status. Redundant parallel operation capability supports hot standby configuration for SIS rack. Hot swap design supports module replacement under approved maintenance conditions. Transmit power fault alarm signals to DeltaV safety controller and operator station.

Application Scenarios DeltaV SIS safety control cabinets in chemical plants, oil refineries, natural gas processing stations and thermal power plants. It provides reliable DC power supply for safety instrumented system racks used in emergency shutdown systems, fire and gas protection systems and process safety interlock systems.

Performance Parameters High efficiency power conversion maintains stable output voltage under varying load conditions. Protection circuits activate immediately when abnormal voltage, current or temperature appears. Redundant parallel operation ensures uninterrupted power supply when single power module fails. Module maintains stable continuous operation within rated working temperature range. Low output ripple guarantees stable operation of SIS safety controller and I/O modules.

Material Composition Flame-retardant black engineering plastic front housing with LED indicator windows. Multi-layer flame-retardant glass fiber epoxy printed circuit board. High reliability power conversion chips, voltage monitoring chips and temperature sensing components. Gold-plated copper alloy backplane connector with anti-oxidation coating. High withstand voltage capacitors, power inductors and thermal protection components.

Structural Features Compact plug-in card size matching standard DeltaV SIS rack slot dimension. Front panel integrates power normal LED and fault alarm LED indicators. Built-in guide rails and spring mechanical latch fix the module firmly inside SIS rack and resist cabinet vibration. Rear gold-plated multi-pin connector delivers power and fault signal to DeltaV SIS rack backplane. Built-in large area heat sink and ventilation slots realize effective heat dissipation during long time operation.

Working Principle 24V DC input power enters KJ3004X1-EA1 module through rack backplane. Internal power conversion circuit converts input power into stable regulated DC voltage required by SIS rack modules. Voltage, current and temperature monitoring circuits continuously track module working state. When overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent or overtemperature occurs, protection circuit cuts off power output and triggers fault alarm. Fault alarm information transmits to SIS safety controller and DeltaV operator station via backplane bus. In redundant configuration, two power modules run in parallel. One module takes full load automatically when the other module fails.

Installation Requirements Insert the module along rack guide rail into designated DeltaV SIS rack slot and fully lock mechanical latch. Verify input 24V DC power wiring and connection quality. Reserve sufficient air circulation space around module, do not block heat dissipation slots on module shell. Configure redundant power parameters in DeltaV engineering workstation if redundant power architecture is adopted. Separate power wiring from low level analog signal wiring to avoid electromagnetic interference.

Precautions for Use Carry out anti-static protective measures during module handling; bare hands shall not directly touch gold-plated connector pins. Cut off rack input power supply before performing module disassembly work. Verify power output status and fault alarm function after module replacement. Check module power status and alarm information in DeltaV operator station regularly. Do not disassemble module outer housing; internal power components have no on-site maintainable spare parts.
