Working Principle:
The KJ3009X1-BA1 card acts as a DeviceNet network adapter within the DeltaV controller. It translates control commands from the DeltaV controller into DeviceNet protocol messages and transmits them over the DeviceNet physical layer to connected field devices. Conversely, it receives DeviceNet messages from field devices, translates them into the DeltaV internal data format, and makes the data available to the controller for processing and display.
Installation Requirements:
- Insert the card into an available slot in the DeltaV controller chassis
- Connect the DeviceNet trunk line to the card’s DeviceNet port
- Configure the DeviceNet network parameters including node address and baud rate through the DeltaV configuration software
- Ensure proper DeviceNet network termination resistors are installed at both ends of the trunk line
- Verify backplane connection is secure before powering up
Usage Precautions:
- Ensure the DeviceNet baud rate and node addresses are correctly configured to avoid network conflicts
- Use approved DeviceNet thick or thin trunk cables with proper shielding
- Verify that all connected DeviceNet devices have unique node addresses
- Monitor communication status LEDs during operation to detect network faults
- Perform network diagnostics through the DeltaV configuration tools after installation
