Material Composition Metal housing with anti-corrosion coating. Internal multi-layer flame-retardant glass fiber epoxy PCB. High-frequency switching transformer, power semiconductor devices, electrolytic and ceramic filtering capacitors, fuses and sampling resistors. Backplane connectors use gold-plated copper alloy. Input terminal blocks use flame-retardant PA plastic and nickel-plated copper terminals.
Structural Features Standard DeltaV rack plug-in structure for dedicated power slots of main rack. Front panel equips power status LED, fault LED and alarm relay terminals. Built-in convection air duct for heat dissipation. Mechanical latches lock module to rack guide rail. Rear connector connects with rack backplane for power distribution.
Working Principle AC power enters module input terminal. EMI filter removes grid surge and high-frequency noise. Switching power conversion circuit converts AC into multiple groups of stable DC power, and transmits power to rack backplane to feed all rack modules. Sampling circuits continuously monitor output voltage, output current and module internal temperature. When operating parameters exceed safe threshold, hardware protection activates and cuts power output. In redundant configuration, two power modules share rack load. The module uploads power health status to DCS system via backplane bus.
Installation Requirements Insert module into power slot of DeltaV main rack and fasten mechanical latches. Connect AC input live wire, neutral wire and protective earth wire to terminals. Connect protective earth to cabinet ground bus reliably. For redundant configuration, install two identical power modules into designated slots. Keep ventilation openings free of blockage. Calculate total rack load power to match module rated capacity.
Precautions for Use Disconnect AC input before wiring or module replacement. Keep ventilation openings clean, remove dust regularly with dry compressed air. Do not exceed rated load of power module. Do not disassemble metal housing as internal parts carry high voltage. Replace failed power module promptly after redundant power fault alarm.
